Project Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and insightful Lived Experience Expert to join our research team for a project focused on developing and evaluating psychosocial interventions for breast cancer survivors experiencing depression. This project aims to improve the mental health and overall well-being of individuals navigating life after breast cancer treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the research team to design, implement, and evaluate psychosocial interventions tailored to the needs of breast cancer survivors with depression.
  • Provide valuable insights based on your lived experience to inform the development of relevant and effective research strategies.
  • Assist in the recruitment of study participants and contribute to data collection efforts.
  • Review research materials, including questionnaires and intervention materials, to ensure they are sensitive, inclusive, and accessible.
  • Offer feedback on the cultural relevance of the interventions being tested.
  • Participate in the awareness raising campaigns of the project.

Qualifications:

  • Personal experience as a breast cancer survivor.
  • A strong desire to contribute to research that supports others facing similar challenges.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Sensitivity to the emotional and psychological needs of breast cancer survivors.
  • Prior experience in research or advocacy roles is a plus but not essential.
