MEET OUR PRESTIGIOUS FACULTY MEMBERS

 

Professor Imran Chaudhry is consultant psychiatrist and chairman psychiatry at Ziauddin group of Hospitals Karachi. He trained in USA and UK and is a professor of adult psychiatry at University of Manchester and visiting professor at Dow University of Health Sciences. He worked as a consultant Psychiatrist with the National Health Service in the United Kingdom for 17 years.
Dr. Mehr Husain is a Senior Research Scientist with Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning and in this role. Her significant contribution to research capacity and capability building in Pakistan and other low and lower middle-income countries is to produce local evidence to improve mental health care.
Professor Nusrat Husain plays a significant role along with UK and local charities in Low- and Middle-Income countries (LAMIC). He is significantly contributing in the development of capacity building and producing local evidence to improve mental health care. Prof Husain has been providing training in Assessment and Cultural Evaluation (ACE) locally and nationally.
Dr. Salman Shahzad is a Clinical Psychologist working as an Associate Professor in the Institute of Clinical Psychology at the University of Karachi. He is Incharge, “Research and Training Unit for prevention and treatment of SUD” in Institute of Clinical Psychology (ICP). Dr. Salman is an International Certified Addiction Professional and Regional Master Trainer as well as Global Master Trainer in prevention of Substance Use Disorder.

Professor Nasim Chaudhry is a consultant psychiatrist and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning (PILL). She is Professor of Psychiatry at Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS). Her main research interests are in women’s mental health, self-harm and suicide prevention in low income countries, cultural psychiatry and Global Health. She is particularly interested in developing culturally appropriate services and improving access to culturally adapted cost-effective psychosocial therapies for severe mental illness

Mr. Hassan Sidat has extensive experience in drugs and alcohol education and training. He has been working with Substance users and professionals. He developed culturally sensitive service user’s workbook in partnership with local Imams to help our clients with their recovery journey. He also has experience of working with educational institutes in developing course material on alcohol and substance misuse.

Dr. Iqbal Naeem is a consultant in General Adult Psychiatry with special interest in Addictive behaviour at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust (LCFT), UK. He is an International fellow of American Psychiatric Association. He has extensive experience of dealing with working age group psychiatric disorders and complex issues in addiction psychiatry.

Dr. Noor ul Zaman Rafiq is International Certified Counsellor. He is working in the field of counselling, research, public health and social development for more than two decades with an experience in the field of communication skills, individual development, and substance use disorders, HIV and AIDS Prevention, Health System Strengthening, Education with multi-sectorial integrated development.

Dr. Dung Jidong is a lecturer. He completed his doctorate in 2018 from University of East Landon (UEL). He also worked as a lecture in the Department of Psychology at Nottingham Trent University in 2018. He taught two years at UEL and the Newham University College London. His current teaching and research areas include substance use and drug abuse; cultural aspects of mental health; and global mental health.

Dr. Ahla Malik worked at Karwan e Hayat from January 2016 to 2017 Jan as a visiting consultant psychiatrist started working at PILL since August 2016 as a team psychiatrist have been mainly involved in papers related to substance use, child psychiatry and self-harm and suicide have been working as a psychiatrist

Dr. Muhammad Amjad Chaudhry is an Addiction psychiatrist. He is ICAP-2 (CP-USA) International Associate of the Royal College of Psychiatrist (UK) DAP Global Trainer. He also Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Umeed Clinic and served as a consultant psychiatrist at Fountain House Lahore.
