Breast Cancer Awareness Session held with Community, in Pindi

On October 31, 2024, the Pakistan Institute of Living and Learning has successfully organised an awareness event on early detection of breast cancer and importance of mental health across all stages of illness. The event was held at Imambargah in Raja Bazar, Rawalpindi attended by senior research team including Mr. Adnan, Mrs. Farah Zulqarnain, Kaneez Zahra, and Arshia Mukhtar, with community health workers as the main audience. Mr. Adnan and Ms. Farah delivered a lecture on early symptoms, screening, and treatment options for breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of early detection for improving survival rates, treatment outcomes, and preventing impact on mental health. They also addressed the mental health challenges associated with breast cancer and introduced coping strategies for managing stress and anxiety. The interactive session encouraged active participation from community health workers, who expressed their dedication to raising breast cancer awareness and identifying survivors within the community. The event concluded with a shared commitment to continue collaborative efforts in supporting breast cancer awareness and mental health in the community.
