Day 1 of the “Shaping the Future of Health and Wellbeing in Pakistan” forum successfully brought together key leaders from Pakistan’s health sector, government, and academia to address critical health challenges.
Notable attendees included Dr. Shahzad Bangash, Federal Secretary for Housing; Dr. Saleem Uddin, Director General of Health, Gilgit-Baltistan; Dr. Parvez, DHS Directorate of Health Services Punjab ; Dr. Waqar Memon, Director General of Health, Sindh; Raja Azam Khan, Minister of Health, Gilgit-Baltistan; Ms. Nidha Khuhro, Parliamentary Secretary for Health, Sindh; and Dr. Khalid Hafeez, Vice Chancellor, BUITEMS and Dr. Ali Razaq CEO Sehat Sahulat Program Punjab.
The forum’s discussions covered Pakistan’s major health challenges, including communicable and non-communicable diseases, the role of research in policy-making, and the integration of mental health and healthcare policies.

A Stakeholder Forum on Policy and Progress” concluded successfully. Highlights included presentations on PILL’s work, community engagement, awareness roadshows, and valuable discussions.
Participants expressed satisfaction with the forum’s focus on evidence-based policymaking and emphasized the need for regular meetings to ensure sustainability and progress in health and well-being initiatives.
Prof. Nusrat Husain and Prof. Nasim Chaudhry thanked the participants for their valuable insights and contributions.

Day 3 Highlights – 10th Global Capacity and Capability Building Programme

The third day featured an engaging Planning and Review Session, focusing on all workstreams of NIHR Funded Project (NIHR 205561) Moving on After Breast Cancer Plus Programme. Key discussions included Clinical and Cost-Effectiveness of Adaptive Interventions, Co-Development, Scale-up, and Sustainability, Community and Social Media Campaign, Economic Impact of Mental Health, Policy Engagement, Capacity Building in Research and Practice and Breast Cancer Registry Setup
The day ended with a collective discussion on the way forward for impactful implementation.
Day 4
Day 4 Highlights – 10th Global Capacity Building Programme

The day featured a focused session on Risk Assessment, led by Dr. Rakhshi Memon, followed by workstream leads identifying potential risks and mitigation strategies for their respective areas. Additionally, Dr. Tayyeba Kiran presented the Trial Delivery Manual, sparking productive discussions on implementation.
